Annie Watsham has a special and unique place in the success

of the Gurkha Justice Campaign that won the right for retired Gurkha soldiers to come and live in Britain.  I was collecting petition signatures for the Gurkha cause in Cranbrook, Kent in August 2008.  Along with many hundreds of other people that day Annie signed the petition but it was she who suggested that I should try and get Joanna Lumley involved in the Campaign.  This I duly did, and the rest as they say is history.

'Without that chance conversation who knows where our Campaign would be now.

'I wish Annie every success with her Gurkha website.  The Gurkhas and their families are people with the finest of human qualities in abundance – loyalty, dedication, kindness and generosity of spirit.  Annie’s endeavours are a valuable way of making sure that the Gurkha community can create strong links within itself and with the wider UK community.  Through it, I hope that many Gurkhas can find useful contacts together with employment and business opportunities.
